It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend Peter Neal passed away peacefully on Monday July 13th 2026.

Pete’s connection with MG began in 1954 when he joined the MG Factory at Abingdon as a Design Office apprentice. During his remarkable career he worked alongside some of the legendary names in MG’s history, contributing to projects including the MG Midget and the development of the MGB.

After the factory closed, his passion for the marque never diminished. In retirement, Pete volunteered at Kimber House, where he helped preserve the Club’s rich heritage before becoming the MG Car Club’s Archivist, a role he fulfilled with dedication and enthusiasm for over 20 years.

Pete’s knowledge, kindness, and unwavering commitment to MG and its history touched countless members. He was always generous with his time, his stories, and his expertise, helping to ensure that the legacy of MG would be preserved for future generations.

On behalf of everyone at the MG Car Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Pam, Catherine, Christopher and all of Pete’s family at this very sad time.

Pete will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his contribution to the MG community and the friendships he forged will never be forgotten.
