John,
I re-used the original bush which was still a reasonable fit. The newly supplied bush was rubbish and no use at all!
My main job was redoing the collapsible part in the middle of the column. I used the hot glue method to replace the broken part. Worked perfectly and now my column does not move in and out like it did.
