I guess that may be best solved by locating the specs of the XJ calipers or going onto an XJ forum to ask someone to take a micrometer to the holes. It would be interesting if this was an upgrade path

+1 for valve stem seals. Have they checked/ changed these ?

How severe is the rust that has put you off ?

Did it look like there would have been sufficient clearance to fit a thin stainless steel shim as a lasting alternative to the duct tape ?

What is the current thinking about additional fuses ? Being a late RB mine is blessed with a 4 way fusebox rather than the 2 way of the earlier cars. Following advice I added some in-line fuseholders, with similar glass fuses, for circuits that otherwise aren't protected. Though this probably follow...
