Paul,
not sure you can help here, but would it be possible for the forum to retain text in a posting before submitting or saving as a draft?
As an example of what happens sometimes - on occasion I inadvertently move away from the post I am writing (sometimes a bit lengthy I confess), and lose all of the text, and have to start all over again. So for instance if I have to check something technical or grammatical I can't move away without loosing everything already written.
Anything possible to help?

Re: Forum postings
Hi Ian,
Do you have an option to save as a draft like me? I'm unsure if you have this option or if I need to turn it on. Let me know if this option is not available.
If you do, you must save as a draft before going away or leaving, it will not auto save.
Another option is to maybevtype up your reply in something like Word. When completed Copy and paste your reply into the forum reply message.
Hope this helps
Regards
Paul

Re: Forum postings
I have the same problem that Ian has highlighted. If I think I am in danger of losing the text I have enter, I highlight the text and the copy it. If I do lose it I can paste it back in.
I do have have the 'Save draft' option but I can never find where it has been saved to - but perhaps this is a secret to stop me writing so many long replies!!

Re: Forum postings
Thanks Paul. Yes I do have that option to save as a draft, and have used it. As I said, it's when I inadvertently go away for whatever reason, or by accident (easily done when typing on a phone) that I loose all the text.
I know that with some documents/emails etc. if I leave that page I can go back and find everything where I left it!

Re: Forum postings
I will see if there is a setting hidden away.
Peter, if you save Draft. Go back to the same story at the bottom it says load draft. Select your draft and hey presto it comes back ;0)

Thanks Paul. It's not especially critical, so if it seems difficult just leave as is!!

Ian
If you go back to a document MSWord is likely to have Autosaved it for you. With the forum you have to remember to save if you need to do something else.

Test Auto Draft
19.09
And its still here!!
please take a look Ian and Peter
You should now have some extra draft boxes and an autosave
I might need to adjust the autosave as It seems to save every 10 seconds
But if I come out of it go to another post without saving and then go back my information comes back where i left it!!!!
Regards
Paul
Go take a look and play nicely - if it breaks the forum it is your fault

Just a test, .........
Yes, it works. To recapture the draft I had to tap "reply" again, and there it was.
Thanks
Ian
