Tappet Adjuster

Used my trusty old tappet adjuster yesterday for the first time in years.
Never realised you can still get them and how expensive they are!
It seems to have done the job and quietened a couple of noisy tappets - more on my blog at https://mgbtips.wordpress.com/2019/12/1 ... p-setting/

I like your alloy thermostat elbow that is in the picture. What years were those fitted to?

The thermostat cover was always aluminum. Some were painted engine colour. That's why it's advisable to smear copper grease on the steel studs to prevent them corroding with the aluminum.

David I think that shape of thermostat housing was common on the earlier MGBs up to 1976 when the rad was moved forward. The thermostat changed shape too accommodate an emissions air pump for the N.American markets
