Hi, I am new to this site as I am now the owner of a 1972 B roadster.
The coolant in the radiator is just water. I am thinking of changing to 50 50 coolant. Will this be Ok?

That's fine but don't use the red OAT antifreeze. Use the blue ethylene glycol.

X2 Vic, just what I would recommend. Plain water will cool the engine but will allow corrosion, which is not good!!

I believe I have misunderstood the question. Is the coolant called 50 50? Some of these premixed coolants aren't all they're cracked up to be. You'd be better off buying 5 litres of blue ethylene glycol antifreeze and mixing a 50/50 solution yourself.

Hi, apologies for not being clear on my question. With 50 50 i meant these ready available pre mixes. However you still replied to my question. I will take your advise and mix it myself. Many thanks

Perhaps I should have added my question to this thread:
Just getting around to flushing out the cooling system and refilling. I am using Bluecol 2 year-which seems to be right. The can says 25% or 33% or 50% depending on protection required. Does a higher concentration of antifreeze=better corrosion protection?
