Column stalk overdrive switch

My early rubber bumper roadster has the column mounted overdrive switch but my handbook is for the slightly later model with switch on gearknob —- so simple question — to switch overdrive on do I push lever down or up? Sounds silly I know but I don’t know which is the off position!

Hi David,
Pull it towards you & OD will activate. Only on 3rd & 4th.
Just remember to push away when slowing down. Or when changing back up thru the gears OD cuts in & feels like you have lost power...
I know because I forget occasionally :-(

I believe they only had the OD switch on the stalk for a short time. Mine was registered Sept 75.
