Re: Electric windows ?
Has anyone here got electric windows. If so do you know what type they are ?
Have people adapted existing mechanisms from other cars ?
Do the generic Ebay ones for about £ 70 do the job ?

Re: Electric windows ?
I know of an MGB in France that has electric windows - he used parts from modern cars. I don't know which make. Personally I wouldn't bother. The crank handle works fine.

Re: Electric windows ?
What about the electric window kit fitted to the MGR V8? - Moss sells the full kit.
Hope this helps

Re: Electric windows ?
Can you provide the link to the Moss kit? I can't find it. The RV8 didn't have power windows when new. I believe the manual winder mechanism is the same as the old MGB.

Re: Electric windows ?
Mike,
Go to the Moss site,
Click on MGB,MGC,RV8
Click on Electrical
Click on Windows
The only item there is the electric windows conversion kit.
Cheers,
Charles

Re: Electric windows ?
Thanks guys. For some reason I couldn't locate that kit at first, but have the link now. As far as I am concerned the only advantage of the power kit is that you can open/close the passenger window while driving, something I don't have much call for. Why add unnecessary complication?

Hi Mike,
I agree with your comments - never mind Moss's price currently at £286.70 , when i too rarely need to stretch across to adjust the passenger window!
Cheers,
Charles

Re: Electric windows ?
At that price the Moss option definitely isnt viable. I wondered if anyone had any joy with the generic kits.
I find electric windows a good safety feature. When reversing out of the drive I often find my view of approaching vehicles is severely limited by cars parked in the road but I can easily hear them when the windows are down on both sides.
