What is it with modern gaskets? The head gasket I used on my MGB when I fitted the modified head a few years ago was like an aluminium shim. When the head was removed recently there was evidence of blowing between cylinders but the gasket was intact. The cylinder head is now being checked for any cracks and warping. What's happened to the proper gasket?
I have been advised to buy a Payen gasket which I shall be doing but I bet the conventional head gasket set doesn't contain one.
So much for progress!!!
Edit. Elring gaskets have been suggested but I looked at their catalogue and MG isn't listed.
