Best oil filter question...

I've converted my three bearing engine to take the later, spin-on oil filter.
A fantastic modification that makes more frequent oil changes a doddle.
The thing is, I've only got one more UniPart oil filter left.
They seem difficult to obtain so any recommendations for a suitable, non return valve type (being upside down, very important), correct volume filter will be mucho appreciated.

Hi Adrian
Try College Motors near Burford Oxon. Tel 01993 823560. They have just taken delivery of a batch of old stock Unipart GFE121 oil filters. They sold me one for £6.

There are many suitable oil filters available quite cheaply from, for instance, ebay. I have on my car at the moment a Mahle OC23, but I also have on the shelf a Mann W7008. Both fit, both have anti-drain back flaps. The Mann filter is a bit slimmer than the Mahle, so looks neater in the engine bay. Here is a link to all the filters that are alternatives for the Mahle OC23, there are 481 of them including some Unipart ones - curiously the Mann W7008 doesn't appear on the list even though I know it fits. I use this type on my Dolomite 1850 which needs a slim filter.

I used to use AC X19 filters but they're no longer available so I've been using Fram PH2857A ones. I can get them from my local independent motor factor.
