LE wheel nuts

Rostyle wheels are located by the cone on the wheel nut centring in the stud holes of the wheel.
Do the alloy wheels on the end of the run LE cars do the same?
Can the same nuts be used?

I know V8 style wheels use a different nut but this question isn't about those.

Hi David,
The LE wheels certainly have their own wheel nut - BHH2269, and at £9.70 each (Moss Catalogue although they are currently on special off at £8.24) are quite expensive to to replace! I only have the The picture in the Moss catalogue is the only one I have to go by and that doesn't show the locating taper/cone. I would suggest you speak to one of the major suppliers - I would suggest B&G many of the others use a sales call centre and B&G might go into their stores and have a look! No wonder so many people opt for the Minators as they use the Rostyle wheel nuts.

The picture makes it look as if the holes are larger and he spigot on the nut goes into it. Rather strange arrangement.

I think the set on ebay can stay put. Need a different idea for Father Christmas.

A standard type of wheel nut for some alloy wheels. Try googling "flat seat wheel nuts". Some are affordable!!!!

I've got LE wheels on my 77 BGT with the correct wheel nuts.I can undo one wheel nut and compare it with the photo. Unfortunately although I can photo it I wouldn't know how to post a photo on the forum being a computer dumbo. I'm mechanical.

Hi Vic. From various illustrations in catalogues it certainly looks correct for LE wheels - BHH2269. Might be worth checking that you have the correct wheel nuts as I suspect cone seat nuts could result in damage to the wheels after some use? The spigot on the nuts is essential for locating the wheel correctly and the flat face I suspect spreads the load more widely on the alloy wheel.

I should perhaps clarify - the LE wheel nut appears to be a bit of a hybrid. It has a cone seat and a cylindrical spigot.
Perhaps Vic could confirm that the LE wheels do have a larger hole for the spigot AND a cone shaped seat?

I've removed a nut and can confirm it's identical to the photo. It's 15/16 AF or 1/2 Whit. The flat collar is 1/8" and the taper the same. I've measured the taper on mine to where the shiny part ends where it goes into the wheel.Diameter of the open end is 5/8" outer 1/2" inner. The diameter at the end of the shiny part that goes into the wheel is about 3/4". These measurements are as accurate as I can achieve without proper measuring instruments.
I have photographed mine but can't post it. I can email it though to someone who can post it on the forum.
