Gerry Brown
I was very saddened to hear this morning that Gerry Brown passed away a few days ago. I had known Gerry since 1969 when he started racing his MG TC, the same year I started with a TD. As I moved on to race a TC myself and the cars became faster, I had many a fine battle in the T-Type races through the 1970 with Gerry and others at the front of the grid and the cars were often only separated by inches. Gerry will also be remembered in MGB circles for his knowledge and preparation skills. He raced an MGB (owned by John Targett) in the 1976 BARC Prodsports Championship, and around that time partnered with Ron Gammons to create Brown and Gammons the MG specialist in Baldock. Gerry also raced an FIA spec MGB (ADD 880B) which in later years became a Rally car which Sir Stirling Moss drove to 3rd place on the 1990 Pirelli Marathon. As a tribute to Gerry and his skills at driving, preparation and knowledge I attach a copy of my driving impression of this car.
As a friend, competitor and expert Gerry will be sorely missed.Pete

Sad news indeed.
I did know Gerry from before B&G days athe olf St Albans natter. In fact John's MGB he raced raced under the identity of a very rusty car I sold Gerry.
I worked at ICI with John, in fact was his "mechanic" on his first High Speed Trial at MG Silverstone X years ago.
Living on the Essex Suffolk borders I did pop in to see him may 2 or 3 years ago on my travels - not too well back then.
Another name nowinthe past like Murray
