Hood captive nuts

Post by Mrbenn »

4 of the 6 nuts that hold the hood on my 77 Roadster have either come loose or gone missing. A previous owner has tried to use Riv nuts. I've never welded before (plus not owning any welding equipment) so I'm not confident doing that myself. Anyone near to Barry (South Wales) able to help or suggest someone to do it? How much should I be looking for to get it done? Or is there another way?

I found a fix. If anyone else is interested though it's from Moss

Thanks for posting this info, not useful to me as I have a BGT, but worth knowing about. Something useful from Moss!

The repair kits arrived yesterday. Fitted this morning and they work brilliantly. Really easy to do as well. Was a case of bending the nut out of the way where there was already one in place. Drill a hole with a 7mm bit and screw it down.
