The gauges on a Mk1 MGb of 1966 build are Smiths gauges.

Right to left on a RHD drive car
Fuel
Rev Counter
Speedometer
Duel Oil pressure (lbs/sq inch)/temperature ( degrees fahrenheit)

The best book for all the detail is the Original MGB by Anders Clausager available from the MGCC Shop here

Roger is seeking assistance in identifying the correct placement of switches and gauges for his newly acquired 1966 MGB Roadster. He is open to recommendations for a book that would provide such details.

Does this help? It is my 1971 MGB which I think is similar. The switches are: Light Switch above dual gauge, then down below from right to left there are Choke, Ignition Switch (blanked on my car as it has a column lock), Washer Plunger, Wiper Switch, and Heater Fan Switch. The overdrive switch is to the right of the fuel gauge and the instrument light dimmer is between the speedo and rev counter.

Why has this post from almost five years ago - it's dated Mon Jun 04, 2018 - and apparently answered at the time, come to life again this morning?

Weird. I hadn't noticed the date on the post.

It's good that Lucas was concerned the thread hadnt been picked up though. Easy for a new joiner to have missed the date.
