MG 'B' Commissioning Plates

Post by KevinR »

I've just purchased a 1974/5 'B' Roadster and I've just joined the Register. Thank you for letting me join. I've had a quick look around the Forum and there's a wealth of useful information but I have 2 specific questions about Commissioning Plates, which I can't find answers to. The car has it's plate and it's in the correct location. I can just about make out the indented figures 107860 but the rest of the plate/information has gone. Q1. Is there any way of finding out the original information? Q2. Is there any way of having a fresh plate made, with the correct information? Many Thanks, in advance, K

Hi Kevin,
You could check with the British Motor museum @ Gaydon. If you know the chassis number the info may be supplied on a heritage certificate.

New plates can be ordered from https://www.justmgb.com/product/mgb-com ... -mgc-gtv8/

You just need the correct info.

Regards
