Dvid Broadhurst has suggested tying baler twine around MGB Batteries to make them easier to lift out . Good and valuable point!!
Baler twine is also useful tied to the gearbox dipstick to aid removal through that sharp edged access hole in the transmission tunnel!

A good suggestion re dipstick Roger, I must try it. It certainly works on Batteries as they are a snug fit in the box as well as being a blighter to get at with the location someone chose for the housing.........
