The speedo on my 1967 3 sync car has been problematic when coming out of storage, last year i replaced the angle drive with a new old stock piece and the speedo started working again. However this year its not working again. If i put a drill on the cable at the gbox end the gauge reads so I am confident the cable and speed head are ok. I have removed the angle drive and all seams free.
Do anyone have any experience of the Gearbox drive suddenly stopping working after a period of un use.
Any advice welcome thanks!

Re: 3sync speedo
My guess would be the cable slipping. A worn cable end could work fine when clamped in the chuck of a drill but slip when run by the angle drive.

Re: 3sync speedo
I had a non operative speedometer with my Land Rover. It was down to the cable being a loose fit in the replacement speedometer drive. A cable from a different manufacturer cured it although I suppose the speedometer drive output could be squeezed together a bit.
