Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

"Robin egg blue" is probably Iris Blue. Very popular on early MGBs.

Re: Wheel Nut Stripped

I tried stainless wheel nuts some years ago but I found that they were prone to seize on the thread due to some reaction between the steel stud and the stainless nut, I believe its called galling. I had a terrible job getting one off at one time so I binned them. And yes, I had oiled the threads.

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

Would it be "special order" because it was an export car (LHD) delivered in Britain? You would never normally sell a LHD car in the UK.

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

I think what you are trying to do might be impossible, but you could try contacting the MGB Register of the MG Car Club here in the UK. https://www.mgb-register.org/ . There is a high likelyhood that the car has been scrapped somewhere along the way. Rust made them uneconomical to repair, and its on...

Re: ULEZ

Well exactly Allan. Would you like to have to pay £12.50 for every trip to the supermarket?

Re: ULEZ

Neither my 1977 MGB GT nor my 1975 petrol Land Rover are shown as being exempt. Both are taxed as Historic and are MOT exempt. It's just one giant mess and typical of Khan. Not that I would ever drive into London now. The trouble is if you live within the extended ULEZ zone as a friend does. Both hi...

Re: ULEZ

I've just checked on the London ULEZ site my 1969 MGB V8 conversion and the 1971 MGB roadster which I sold recently. Both are exempt from the London ULEZ charge. However, my 1977 Triumph Dolomite 1850HL is not exempt. Strange isn't it? I live in Scotland and all three of the cars shown above are exe...

Re: Seat adjustment

A tip for refitting the seat. Get hold of four extra bolts of a reasonable length. Cut their heads off. Screw them into the seat fixing holes. Place seat over the headless bolts, then remove them one by one putting the correct bolts in their place. Makes it much easier.

Re: Seat adjustment

I'm only 5' 8" with short legs and a longer back and I have enough headroom in the GT. But when I took it on a local circuit and had to wear a helmet, I was forced to bend my neck to get under the roof. So I understand where you are coming from. How tall are you, and is your height in your back...
