I measured 400mm to the top of the inner roof about 20mm more in the centre - this clearance continues about 150mm towards the rear. Hope this helps. Just a thought that if you made i...

Tow rope anchoring points?
Hoping I never need to be towed or in case I am asked to give a tow where are the best places to fix a tow rope. Has anyone made a bracket that is for that purpose and where is it fixed?

New seals on works hardtop
I bought a works hardtop that needed a lot of work tidying it up as a bit of a summer project. Got the new seals and now fitted them but not sure how the seals are supposed to meet at the corners. Wonder if anyone can confirm the layout before I cut the surplus. Photos are of quarterlight to door se...

set ignition timing with vac gauge
Well i have read a lot about how you should ignore manufacturers settings which was based on a totally different 1970s leaded fuel and use a vacuum gauge to set timing and not a strobe. I connected my Gunsons vac gauge up after slackening the distributor clamp and as soon as started engine the gauge...

NEC Show
A good classic car restoration show today, good club stands and auto jumble. MGs well represented by the various clubs. The MGB in the pic is on the MGs on Track stand- a rubber bumper conversion with a V8 under the bonnet....very nice.

Re: engine back in
.....and it works and drives well after starting it up yesterday. Replaced all the selectors in the gearbox and gear change feels good. A PO had a stint of racing the car. Also think i found the source of the oil leak being the dried up, hardened and shrunk cork main bearing to sump seals - but repl...

The DVLA will not give out names of previous owners but i recently got a list of change of ownership the date and town not the names from the DVLA for a fee of £5. So it may narrow down your search area a bit. You can download the form from the DVLA website.
