Re: 79 b solinoid
The white/brown wire is white/red. The white/light green goes on the terminal next to the heavy brown wires. The white/red goes on the terminal out on its own per the wiring diagram.

Re: starter 79 b
I presume it's from a 1979 B with a pre engaged starter in which case the pinion gear won't spin until the solenoid pulls it forward to engage the starter ring on the flywheel. It sounds like an inertia starter from your description and if the pinion doesn't spin forwards then the Bendix probably ne...

Re: SU Fuel Pump 72 GT
Why not get an electronic pump and do away with the points.!BFS in Salisbury sell them and they do tick and I can vouch for BFS as they rebuilt my HS6's and 4 Zenith Land Rover carburetors. The first one they did about 12 years ago is still going strong and has needed no adjustments after the initia...

Re: Horn Goes Off when right turn.
That's the first step. Unfortunately I've just remembered that the workshop manual with all the different wiring diagrams for different versions of the MGB is still on loan with someone and I must get it back. I've only got the 77 to 79 years of diagrams.

Re: Horn Goes Off when right turn.
The ignition and horn are on completely different circuits. What year is MG and is the horn push on a stalk on the steering column or in the centre of the steering wheel. More details are needed.. I can't offer an explanation without knowing this information then I can check the wiring diagram. If t...

I thought the horn push on that year is on a stalk on the steering column.

Re: Windscreen - which to buy
Buy cheap buy (at least) twice. I'd go for the Pilkington one. Are heated windscreens available for MG's?

Re: New clutch master cylinder leaking from cap - does it need rubber seal?
Pleased you sorted it. Unfortunately new parts can still be of dubious quality these days. MG doesn't care about its heritage unlike Land Rover. I can still buy certain parts for my 1975 Land Rover from a main dealer but I certainly can't for my 1977 MGB GT.
