There was only ever one type of overdrive originally fitted to the 3 syncro gearbox of a Mk1 MGB. Some MK1 cars have had 4 syncro boxes fitted by owners for a number of reasons which has a different overdrive unit. The major supplier of panels andbodyshells is British Motor Heritage of Witney.

They supply their ownand Steelcraft panels to the trade.

The sure way is to get a Hertitage Certifcate which will give you the information on the build records.

It may or may not say to where in Canada it was dispatched.

Glad you could understand my earlier post - now editied.

Surely one has just to take it out turn it round and replace.
Its a while since I took a toggle switch out but I seem to remember the hole inthe dash is not round ususllya D shape to stop the switch rotating.

Oh the joys of originality.

The toggel switches shoud all be in the same position - off- up down on.
On early MK1 cars the lights switch is also a toggle switch but in the position of your washer pump - 3 switches all line up
