Re: Does anyone know what this is?

David
Maybe not a factory fit but definately a period original bolt on.

Mine was seized when given tome back in the early 90s so left it filled with oil for a few days - the compressor jumped back into life.

I guess finding the trumpets might take a while

I have one of these mounted in the same position as yours.

It is the compressor for air horns. The cut off large plastic pipe inthe right of your photo shoud provide compressed air to the air horns.

Verty effective warning system - makes the MOT Tester jump!

Re: Rear View Mirror

David The Moss parts book whilst not giving dimensions gives a few clues. Brackets and rods differed by year - up to 68, 69 and 70 onwards and two completely different mirrors. I don't know their interchangability nor does the part book give guidance The mirror for the later cars appears to come wit...

Re: Rear View Mirror

If you have the central rod it should be possible to fit the earleir type rear view mirror part no BHA4806 However the big downside is BHA 4806 IS NOT a mirror which can be dipped unlike the later mirror. Thus if you ever go out at night the bright headlights of today's cars just dazzle one - couple...

Paul You are doing the right thing by joining before buying and hopefully joining the MGCC - owning a MG car is not required for membership. You are not an imposter in any way. You can join on line here https://www.mgcc.co.uk/ The Midland Centre of the MGCC here lists events and meetings http://www....

Re: MGB Steering Column 1962 - 1969

Ian They are well aware of the USA attemps to solve the problem of energy absorbing column repair. The project is looking at establishing a safe process to repair these columns to least least OE spec that a supplier can reproduce. The money involved is quite small, the ex Rover Chassis engineer is f...

MGB Steering Column 1962 - 1969

A project is being undertaken by a MGCC member and the engineer who worked as the RV8 Chassis engineer on two topics. One is the correct installation of the rack and column and the other on establishing a safe repair method for enrgy absorbing (generally called collapsable) columns. The project is t...
