Re: 1975 MGB Oil Filter
Hi David, 18GH -18V engines use the top loading inverted canister filter, the change being made sometime in 1969 per Moss catalogue. The last engines with 18GD & 18GG (1967-69) used an inverted filter whereas before that they hung down. Either you have an old block and / or a modified adapter bra...

Re: Power loss
Hi Stephen, You say you are going to change the points which suggests the car doesn't have electronic ignition. If so you will have a condenser which is besides the points in the distributor underneath the cap. The condenser is there to stop the points from arcing & burning out quickly. Condense...

Re: Windscreen washer electric pump
As Vic says, the washer pump is fixed to the vertical face of the bulkhead just below the rear air filter housing .If you have the original saucepan shaped air filter cans the mounting holes are difficult to see.( It makes it easier if you remove the rear one taking care not to drop the gasket betwee...

Re: Advice needed
The cooling fan operation is triggered by the thermostatic switch at the top of the radiator and therefore only closes & makes a circuit when the radiator water gets really warm as indicated bt the temp gauge in the car.Mine cuts in when the gauge is probably 75% of the way between N & H.Unl...

Re: Advice needed
Hi Stephen, The washer motor is supplied by the green circuit. Assuming the motor itself works,(which is easily checked by removing the two connectors off the contact tabs & then applying a power source directly & briefly to the motor to see if it functions ),check that the contact tabs are ...

Re: Advice needed
It's personal choice of course. I would stick with the original LE wheels. For my 1980 roadster I never liked the standard Ro Styles which deteriorate rapidly. I considered bolt on chromes wires but felt they were out of character with rubber bumpers. One year on the Silverstone weekend Brown & ...
