Re: Tudor was her bottle
Hi Peter,
Off topic i know, but looking at your under bonnet picture where is your choke cable?
On my 1980 Roadster it is routed through the same hole as the wind screen fluid supply piping to the screen jets & i can't see yours!
Cheers,
Charles

Re: Slow Cranking with Electronic Ignition
Have you checked the condition & connections of the earth strap from the engine block to the chassis as a weak contact here under load from the starter motor may affect the route the current flow takes , i.e. the route back to the battery may in part go through the ignition /plug route/ throttle...

Re: start up
If I haven't used my 1980 roadster(HIF CARBS as originally fitted ) for a few days & particularly in the warm weather i always turn the ignition on & wait until the fuel pump stops ticking indicating that fuel has reached the carbs, then with full choke start the car which then fires into li...

Re: Gauge voltage stabiliser
Hi Allan, If the problem doesn't go away after checking all the contacts are clean & secure, check you have 12v on the female contact on the green (with the ignition on). If you do ,with the ignition on ,join the green & light green / green wires together by passing the regulator. Ensure you...

Re: Gauge voltage stabiliser
Hi Allan,
Assuming the layout behind your dash is the same as mine the voltage regulator is above the hazard & indicator flasher units.

Re: Carb fuel overflowing
Hi Stephen,
That's good news! Was it a sticky carb piston causing the needle valve to fail to close & therefore flood the carb & hence overflow?

Re: Gauge voltage stabiliser
Hi Allan, The guage voltage regulator only supplies a constant voltage of about 10V to the fuel & temp guages. As both are affected then the fault must be on the green supply side to the stabiliser, a poor earthing of the stabiliser in its housing on the bulkhead (next to the windsreen wiper mot...

Re: Barrey cover rubber seal
Hi Vic,
It is a straight swop. (My daughter bought it for me as an Xmas present). Its in the Moss catelogue in the front section. From memory it is about £55 ,so expensive, but seems well made & smart albeit covered most of the time by the carpet!
Cheers , Charles
