This is interesting.

I can't see any reason for not using modern oils in the engine and gearbox.

Unless anyone has other ideas?

I would say the silver was a dull gloss and the black inserts were matt if I remember correctly.

If your car does have a 'wire' axle, then I bet there'll be a queue of people who would gladly swap their bolt-on wheels and undercarriage for your wire set up!

Donald: You can use push button door skins and adapt them to pull handle, by enlarging the hole for the handle and drilling the rubber buffer hole. John: The 'crack of doom' as it's known, is down to the quarter-light being pushed outwards by the seal on the windscreen every time the door is slammed...
