Morning All, I would like to check the dynamic timing on my early rubber bumper roadster GHN5-395102G. I don't have a timing light, so the purpose of this post is to ask for recommendations please before I buy. Additionally, as the battery is not under the bonnet on a B, does anyone have a recommend...

That looks really good Andrew, if I could figure out a way of achieving the same thing that would be great. I notice your original fixing is on the wheel arch whereas mine is through the rear body between the hood securing points.

Thanks Paul, was trying to avoid making new mounting points. When you say you can’t use hood, is it because it won’t open properly with the reel fitted under rear bodywork? If that is the case then I’ll probably stick with what I have! Next I need ideas where to stow seat belt end tidily once releas...

My 1975 Roadster is fitted with static belts, the type that are fixed through the rear body with visible chrome headed bolts.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to fit inertia belts using these original pick up points and if so where I can source some?

Thanks for that Pete, so I guess all front springs are the same length! Could easily have fallen into a trap there and purchased chrome bumper second hand springs only to find out they are the same size! That will teach me not to try to do things on the cheap!

I would like to lower my rubber bumper roadster to the same ride height as the chrome bumper cars.
Can someone explain how the higher ride height on the rubber bumper cars is achieved ie is it just longer springs at the front and leaf spring configuration at the back?

Hi Peter, As the overdrive was working before taking the car “off the road”, all I’m doing is effectively servicing it in line with the University videos, hence no need to remove unit or crossmember. Actually found things to be remarkable good considering age of unit, some swarf on wire filter scree...

Since my search for tool 18G1118 has been fruitless I decided to make my own tool using a piece of bar steel and 2 small nuts, bolts and washers. Careful measuring and bingo I have a tool that works and plug is now easily unscrewing!
