Just to complicate things further have a look at the penrite classic light 20/60W Surprisingly some of the oils are quoting obsolete API standards, maybe the standard has been superceeded by later designs of oils yet some manufacturers are stll manufacturing to the old standard for classic cars. I normally buy my oils from OPIE in Cornwall

Just been on the web site and I normally look for 20/50W classic oils to check on prices and offers. Today I put my registration Number in for a search the correct car came up MGB 1978 but all oils listed were semi-synthetic 5/40W

Check the actual fuel pipe under the body and rubber hoses could be damaged or pipes sludged up. Fuel pick up pipe on some models have a suction filter, could be blocked.

Vic, spoke to Peter Burgess about fitting the Aldon distributor with electronic ignition. Peter said not to bother with the vacum just set the car up without and find what’s best advance setting. Best way would be to put on rolling road to check it correctly. I found no problem without vacum car per...
