Re: Rear axel swop.
Have you sourced a replacement tube axle yet? I noticed that mine was 'offset' in that one spring hanger was say 5.5inch from the flange, the other side was 5.25inch....I thought mine was a bit duff, so at an auto jumble I fond a seller with about 8 of them, all where different and not even. I can o...

Re: Lucas bullets
That's great, the debate regarding soldering or crimping is often brought up on forums, I always like the quote "a man who fell from the top of a 17-story building, and who said to himself as he passed each floor on his downward plunge: “I’m all right so far.”..... the bullets were not designe...

Re: Lucas bullets
Good advice, the Lucas bullets require a special hex crimping tool, you can solder them but it won't last. The bullets were good in their day, but if you are not bothered about originality, much better automotive connectors are available.

Re: Alternative calipers
I upgraded my brakes, not because they were poor, they are not, they are perfectly OK, but I was finding that other drivers on the road had their brakes on all the way down hills causing me to use mine more then normal, so the 'upgrade ' was just to keep up with 21st century traffic. I looked for so...

Re: Additional fuse options
All a bit off topic but this is how discussions go....in saying that, I did make a new pipe from stainless steel, it has the same O/D but a thinner wall and looks better too.( the internal of the origlnal pipe was quite corroded, full of crud reducing the I/D and made of poor material) I didn't form...

Re: Additional fuse options
Hi all, My understanding is that the 'kink' in the pipe is nothing to do with clearance or access, it is 'usual' to put 'kinks' in pipes that are subject to expansion and contraction with heat, it allows linear movement without putting stress on the fastening points, you will often see similar 'kink...

Re: Cam chain cover drawing
Hi, "Megasquirt" is a mere calculator! I'm using a special ECU specifically designed for the B Series engine, it has seperate 3D maps for cylinder 1&4 and 2&3, due to the simeased inlets , seperate timing/maps for crank, idle and retarding during braking as well as shutting off the...

I too, thought the mesh was too fine, I got some grill from B&Q, very cheap, cut it to size, and when I refitted it used some white (to match the car colour) Sikaflex, it has been like this for over 10years..

Re: Cam chain cover drawing
Hi Ian, Good question, the one on the car at the moment is in very good condition but it is also fitted with a bracket that holds a 'crankshaft position sensor', it all works fine, but the OEM cover was never intended to be structural. I've got a second one , but it was only ever a spare, it's clean...

Re: Cam chain cover drawing
I've had a reply back from BMH, they do not have a drawing for this part. I've drawn what I can, it's accurate but in metric not imperial, but I've no idea what/where the datum is, guess it doesn't matter too much, it's just a bit messy. First job is to 3d print a space model, then get it CNC'd.
