Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

I was able to find an archive online where I can order USAF incident reports. I was able to obtain a .pdf of the original report from 1963. Incredible. Unfortunately, there were no images attached and names of the two deceased were not even documented. But...it appeared that that last page was purpo...

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

I agree with Chris and George, I am waiting on military documents that have been requested from my wife's aunt; however, that is pending a copy of the death certificate. I expect it may be some time before we see those and I am hoping there will be extensive information on the incident. We will be c...

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

Thank you for the production info guys. Those are the years I currently have it narrowed down to. I should be able to identify the year at some point I am assuming. I'm still confused by the "built for Richard Heppner" plaque. If this was in fact a RHD vehicle ordered for him by a shop tha...

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

I am working on getting more information from my wife's Aunt. I'm hoping to get a picture of the car with a UK license plate. I'm expecting I will at least be able to narrow down the year of the vehicle. Richard is my wife's biological father. My wife never had chance to meet him as her mother was p...

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

Does anybody know the names of any garages or businesses that may have performed LHD conversions for US military stationed at RAF Bentwaters back this far (1960's)? Perhaps I could contact them and inquire if they have ever seen any type of plaque on these vehicle after converted. Thanks again, Kevin

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

Thank you so much everyone for the reply. I'm still working on identifying the exact year hoping that gets me closer. That would at least narrow down the VIN # to....well, I'm not sure how many cars. I have searched online and have been unable to find specifics on how many were built each year by LH...

Re: Desperate For Help Finding VIN #

Thank you all for the reply. The best case scenario for myself, is to locate this in poor condition so I can begin restoring with my wife. Nothing would make her happier. I did receive an email back from British Motor Heritage Trust at the British Motor Museum. They were of no help. Not to say they ...
