Re: Respray costs
My 23 year old ‘experienced’ buyer- that is 23 years old not having 23 years of experience - came to pick up the MG today and is absolutely over the moon with it! He sat in the driver seat and was grinning from ear to ear! He is going to take it to an MG event at Donnington this weekend and is hopin...

Re: Respray costs
Well it’s 3rd time lucky! The third viewer was more interested in seeing the car start up from cold than the state of the paintwork. So it’s sold for the full asking price with no negotiation.

Re: Respray costs
Hi Rommel . The body panels are generally ok with the exception of the under bumper panel at the rear which does need some repair work. Cutting and polishing won’t be enough for some of the issues. No panels are that bad that they need replacing. In the past it has had new front wings. The main prob...

Re: Respray costs
Here’s my dilemma. Having had 2800 views on Autotrader and 28 on Car and Classic I have only had 2 viewings and both rejected the car with regards to the paintwork. They picked up on the half a dozen areas that would benefit from a respray. Neither either looked inside the car nor took it for a driv...

Re: Respray costs
Hi Bumpa Get your point about Harvest Gold. Went to the 60th Anniversary bash at Gaydon and out of over 1000 cars only saw a handful of Harvest Gold. But if you’re looking for one it’s like looking for rocking horse poo! I did find one at the Pride of Longbridge event and I parked next to it and too...

Re: Respray costs
Well that’s a good question! I ain’t got a clue!My car is on Autotrader at the moment and out of 70 cars for sale mine is the cheapest but one at £4950. What is a respray worth to a potential buyer? Who knows? Glass’s and Parker’s are of no use! So it boils down to what someone is prepared to pay fo...

Re: Respray costs
Hi Ian , Bumpa Basically I am having to sell my 73 Harvest Gold GT due to my increasing physical disabilities. It will never be a pristine example due to excessive use of underseal by one of the 12 previous owners! There are half a dozen areas that if they were repaired and resprayed would make the ...

Respray costs
Hi. Has anyone got any recent prices for a respray on a GT, preferably for a built up car not a bare shell. Cheers Geoff

Oil cooler
Were oil coolers originally a factory fit feature for 1973 B’s?

Re: Fitting MGB GT Seats
Wow Alan you must have some time to kill! All I can say is that every marque produced at Longbridge, Cowley and Abingdon had squabs as the upright bit, including MG’s. Maybe the designers in the early days got confused and gave it the wrong name. But it does seem more appropriate to sit on a cushion...
