Hi, the pump stopped working the other day and no amount of tapping would generate more than a couple of clicks. Many thanks for the replies. Have attempted to to resolve the problem with a new cap and and old one from previous style reservoir, all to no avail. Still leaks so I think it's going to be a further new reservoir as it seems I have managed to obtain a duff one.

Are you certain the fluid is escaping through the thread on the cap and not the grommet where the reservoir fits to the cylinder ? Yes quite sure it's coming from the cap. I wrap a cloth around the reservoir to limit the paint damage and after a journey the cloth is damp and just wiping your finger...

Hi Andy, yes that's the body number. I believe that the GBD prefix and P suffix is unique to the MGB GT. Thanks Andrew for confirming what I thought.
