It looks like seam sealant or stonechip treatment. Possibly factory applied but it could have been done by a previous owner if they happened to have the remains of an aerosol left over from coating the sills or inside the wheelarches etc.. I cant see anything here for concern, its not going to flake...

The £ 70 universal type kit arrived and is on it's way back as it doesnt have an adapter for the spindle on late MGBs. Pity as its a craftily designed bit of kit that would be good for other classics.

That's what i did. Putting a taper on the bolts (or replacing them with new tapered bolts) does make it much less of a pain to refit the front seats

How did you go about ordering from that seller Mike ? At first sight their manufacturer list doesnt include MG or Rover
