Re: Rubber Bumper Conversion to Chrome
My car was originally Chrome Bumper. The previous owner (a friend) had a conversion carried out as a part of a ground up, nut and bolt rebuild. He determined that the new Chrome Bumpers are of questionable quality, and the cost of repairing and re-chroming the originals was phrohibitive, so he deci...

Re: Battery charging
I'd also vote for the hard wired smart charger option with the SAE connector on a short lead through the bulkhead, easily accessed behind the seat . Mine has a battery cut out switch also fitted on the rear bulk head, just behind the seat. Ideal if the car is garaged and there's a plug socket handy....

Re: More newbie questions: Crankcase breather and oil pressure gauge flickering
Just my 2p worth and hopefully to give you some further comfort. Ref the flickering oil pressure gauge, mine does this too. It's pretty steady at cruise (between 60 and 70) and between 70 to 80 under hard acceleration and around 50 at tickover. However once the engine is properly hot, the needle fli...

Re: Gearbox Oil Change 1974 MGB
Hi Tim Your first job is to establish which type of gearbox you have. Some 1974 cars are the older type (Top fill) and some are later (side fill) You'll be able to determine this by looking down the left side of the gearbox (passenger side) if you can see a plug on the side of the gearbox, it's the ...

Down to Earth
Hi all I'm guessing this has been done before, but I can't find anything via "Search" So apologies up front! It's entirely possible that could be dreaming, but I'm fairly certain that I read somewhere that UK cars did not move from Pos earth at the same time as the USA Cars. Also my 1974 (...
