I'm the 14th owner off my 1975 MGB Roadster LST74P. I have tracked back to owner no 8 who bought the car in 2001 and got quite a bit of history prior to that. At some stage it was used for racing - I suspect sometime 2011-14 as it covered nearly 2000 miles whilst being sorned and MOTed each year! I ...

Replaced my pillar seals earlier this year and left the strips out and thought the same - that if there were a problem I would fit them later.
So far so good!

David I think that shape of thermostat housing was common on the earlier MGBs up to 1976 when the rad was moved forward. The thermostat changed shape too accommodate an emissions air pump for the N.American markets

Used my trusty old tappet adjuster yesterday for the first time in years. Never realised you can still get them and how expensive they are! Fed up with the fiddly fitting of trying to align 4 bolts and holding filters in place at same time decided time for a change so replaced the bolts with 5/16"UNC studs. Pics on my blog at https://mgbtips.wordpress.com/2019/11/3 ... eview=true
