Pictures of my car cable run. Ignore the volume of wires you see as my car has electric windows. The grey spiral wrap is my addition but the original speaker cables where just bare wires, I have also tie wrap the cables to the hinge which I think is better.

Not a problem with the wiring used the same grommet for the speaker cables into the door.
Think you will have to take a direct feed from the battery would recommend a fuse as close to the battery as possible for safety.

Remy Fitted them to my roadster a few years ago. I had installed an immobiliser which had the electrical output for driving the solenoids. Ian that's the issue thought if I fit the remote unit then no more spills but need to connect the hose back on the engine return somehow. Thought there would be an adapter available to bolt on the engine.

Oil filter change
Just completed an engine service on the B and somehow slipped with the oil filter removal and oil went everywhere. I have a new remote filter housing as fitted on V8’s however is there an adaptor to fit on the engine instead of the canister adapter.

Totally agree with Ian always use red rubber grease and dont like the fluid on your skin.
