Re: Hidden Music Source
I'm away for a few days but maybe we can have a chin wag when I get back. Having built 2 V8s, done a couple of full restorations and owned 8 MGBs ( plus several other classics) I've some experience (not claiming to be an expert though - dangerous territory). Don't really do much with MGOC folk but t...

Re: Hidden Music Source
David, I see you're in wrexham, I'm in Hope I've fitted a concealed system in my GT. Theres an amp and sub in the boot under the board by the spare wheel. two six inch speakers in the rear quarters, all driven by an iPod hidden in the tunnel. Works pretty well, the iPod holds charge for ages and the...

Re: MGB Seats
Peter, I can confirm the MGF seats will indeed (just) fit as they are fitted into my car. Its not a happy installation though and has lots of caveats. First; mine is a Mk 1 GT so has the narrow 3 synchro tunnel to give a little more width. Second; the mounting holes are no where near aligned so extr...

Re: Fuel pipe layout
take a look here https://www.mgexp.com/phorum/read.php?1,2973388 the long pipe from the pump connects to the braided line in the photo and then to each carb on the engine side of the float bowls. the pipes you refer to connect to the wing side of the float bowls (disconnected in this photo) and they...

Re: Winter of our discontent
quick tip - feel the hoses to and from the heater matrix (under the bonnet) when the engine is good and warm. They should both be hot. Mine weren't because the heater control valve on the side of the engine block was full of crud and blocked. Replaced for under £20 and now its as warm as toast.

Re: Middle exhaust section with Bomb silencer
I'm about to change my entire exhaust system for a lager bore one. My current system fits fine and doesn't catch the floor at all and we have far too many speed bumps here. I'll be taking it off early next week (or possibly sooner??) if you fancy the dive up to see/hear it. I;ll be selling it on eBa...

Hi Pete
Give the temp is correct I'm struggling to see why the gauge over reading will be related to the thermostat. It reads just over half even when the engine is switched off, I think the hair spring has weakened and the gauge is duff. No it doesn't lose coolant.
