Re: Looking for MGB Reg MPH 11 D

Hi John
The car is listed on the MGB register but it is a very old entry, so no picture.

Re: Thread on the back of a speedo

Hello David
I doubt it will be a metric thread. I measured a spare speedo cable collar with my vernier caliper. it measured 11.11mm which in old money is o.4375" which is 7/16".
Hope this helps.

Re: Windscreen Wiper arms

Once on the site Clicked "rubber for windscreen wiper blades". It gives you the profile sizes so you can check if these will fit your existing blades.
Hope this helps.

Re: Supplier for good quality 1/4 light rubbers

Hi Mike Are you sure this is where the water is coming in? Usually any water coming in through the tops of the doors runs down inside the door and out through the drain holes in the bottom of the door. Have you checked the valve in the bottom of the air intake plenum chamber is not blocked as this i...

Re: Headlamp relays

Hi Chris
Providing the LED bulbs are capable of running main and dip together then the relay upgrade can be made to do this using the existing switches and wiring. It will require a wire from the light switch and a 12 v Feed from the fuse box.

Re: Supplier for good quality 1/4 light rubbers

Hi Mike I’m afraid the answer is No. I think the ones available in the UK all come from the same source (India?) The quadrant section on all of the ones I have seen, look as if they have been on a course of steroids compared to the slenderlines of the originals. I was lucky, when I was looking for n...

Re: Technical Day 2024

Hi All As a member of the MGB Register committee, I think I should respond to the comments. It is the reginal centres of the car club that are responsible for organizing Natters, not the registers. Yes, the B register is aware of event's centering on Oxfordshire. However ,along with many other Regis...

Re: Headlamp relays

Hi Back to your original question. Power to the lights takes a lengthy route going through the light and dip switch’s before reaching the lights. Standard headlights draw around 11/12 amps so any small resistance in the switch contacts can result in significant volts drop at the lights. Fitting the ...

Re: MGOC 6 volt batteries?

Hi Paul I’m with you. However I went for the type 202 battery. Same size as a single 6 volt battery so you can use the original battery clamp. As you mention, the only change is to unbolt the earth cable and move it over. CCA is also higher than the standard 6 volt setup, so will give better startin...
