Hi John
There appears to be a limit on the size of pictures (in MB) that can be inserted in posts. Is the maximum size known, as this would help people when posting images so they can resize the picture first. If they don't do this, all the input to the point the picture is inserted is lost and you have to start again! Are there different limits for pictures placed in line and those just attached and for the different formats (JPG, PDF, PNG etc)?
I notice your picture of the Marathon B is under 500KB but we used to be able to insert pictures straight off the camera.

Hi everyone
There is a limit per uploaded file of 5MiB (just over 5MB). There is also a constraint that permits no more than 3 files per individual post/reply. Nothing in the settings appears to distinguish between file types, it's simply a blanket rule. I recall these limits were set to keep the level of storage in check.
We could investigate increasing the file size to be more aligned to DSLR's etc. if that's the general consensus?

I've just tried uploading a 2.19 MB picture and this is the error message I got:
The requested resource
/posting.php
does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

Can you tell share the file size of the photo you are uploading? Are there many files or a single one?
I have tried a 5.4MB file (which exceeds the threshold) and receive the same (expected) error you reported. I then uploaded a file smaller than the limit and it was successful.
