Thanks for photo. I notice you have the correct lids !!
I found a pipe like that in with the loose carbs but thought the 2 over flows were joined because there was only 1 🤔
Are yours secured to the chassis? If there was an inlet malfunction fuel would spill out In the engine bay causing a fire hazard 😳
I’m sure I’ve seen them connected somewhere but could be wrong.
Ps once I engaged the choke it started with them blocked up

Check that the jets lower when the choke is pulled right out.

Dave - I'm not in the garage at present but as far as I can recall the two overflow pipes come together under the carbs and are fastened to a bracket by the engine mount.

Yep, the jets lower with full choke
It starts ok, without flooding, now I have disconnected the 2 chambers and got the choke working. I had the wrong lid on one of them !!
