Another daft question-

Removed the dents and filled/flattened now ready for priming.
Bearing in mind the paintwork is cellulose (no clear coat) is there a special high build primer that I should use or would any type be ok as long as I flatten it once dried?

Steven,
I use U-pol P88 primer filler which I spray myself. Found it to be excellent. Not sure if it is available in aerosols though?
U-pol do sell this though -

https://www.u-pol.com/uk/en-uk/product/ ... mer-filler

Might be worth trying this or something similar.

Finally after a lot of searching and heartache (not to mention cans of useless colour matched paints I think I have found one close enough?

Though I would update the thread-
I eventually managed to get a really good colour match and in Cellulose (mixed to match original colour)
Picture below is of a quarter panel that was resprayed thought it has come out really well.

Looks good! Who did you use to get the matched paint? Would be useful information for everyone.

Happy to oblige,
I used the following company:

CARS Ltd
14 Boss Hall Road
Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 5BN
Tel: 01473 464 466
Email: ipswich@carspaints.com

Speak to either Paul or Keith both were very knowledgeable and went the extra mile to ensure I had the exact match. They do have a couple of other branches but I preferred the helpful nature of these guys.

Another shot this time of the bonnet, really pleased with the outcome and no dents in sight.

Not sure about that Ian, but I am a firm believer in giving credit to those companies/employees who are really helpful and go the extra mile to ensure you are happy with product or advice.
