Oil filter change
Just completed an engine service on the B and somehow slipped with the oil filter removal and oil went everywhere. I have a new remote filter housing as fitted on V8’s however is there an adaptor to fit on the engine instead of the canister adapter.
Re: Oil filter change
Michael, not sure that I completely understand your question, but my '72 BGT has the standard inverted screw on filter, and it always spills oil everytime I change it. Just something I accept now!

Re: Oil filter change
Ian that's the issue thought if I fit the remote unit then no more spills but need to connect the hose back on the engine return somehow. Thought there would be an adapter available to bolt on the engine.
Re: Oil filter change
Thanks Michael. I really can't help I'm afraid. Perhaps someone in the V8 register may have some ideas?

Re: Oil filter change
On the Rover V8 engine as used in the factory MGB GTV8 the oil pump is external right at the front of the engine and already has pipe connections built in. I don't know how you would connect up a remote filter to a BMC B-series engine.

Re: Oil filter change
There are remote filter adaptor plates listed on ebay. One of them might fit.
