Trip reset for speedo

Post by Stephen Aitken »

Does anyone know where the trip reset button is located on a late B on the speedo?I’ve looked for mine and can’t find it anywhere..I assume it does have one?
Thanks

Hi Stephen,
This might help you: https://www.mgexp.com/phorum/read.php?1 ... sg-2418733

It could of course be missing as I think it joins onto a rod that goes into the speedo using a small pin which acts rather like a universal joint. If it is missing try Caerbont Instruments to see if they can supply one.

Mine is under the dash to the left of the steering column. It's a cable with a knurled end.

Stephen if you can't locate it by feel then if you open the driver's door, kneel down alongside and shine a torch towards the top rear of the radio console you'll see the trip reset attached to a bracket to the left of the lower bolt of the steering column clamp. I zero the trip on mine annually at the insurance renewal so I know where to reach for it.
