Tudor was her bottle

Post by Stephen Aitken »

This might be a dumb question but have a Tudor washer bottle to replace the bag as mine has perished. But wanted to know where is the optimal place to attach it? I can’t get it to sit where the bag was.
Thanks

Hi Stephen,
This is where my car has the plastic Tudor bottle fitted, but I don't think this was the original position as most pictures show the bottle on the right (offside) of the engine bay next the alternator, and probably fixed to the radiator diaphragm panel. The early cars had them fitted in a similar place to mine but further right over the trapezoid plate covering the hole for the pedal box on LHD cars.

Hi Peter,
Off topic i know, but looking at your under bonnet picture where is your choke cable?
On my 1980 Roadster it is routed through the same hole as the wind screen fluid supply piping to the screen jets & i can't see yours!
Cheers,

The cable comes through the bulkhead near the recess that the steering column on a LHD car would pass through. It then goes under the air filter and up to the choke levers. The inner cable is attached to the U shaped bracket that goes under the front carb and has the threaded mounts for the air Filter. This is fixed so doesn't move when the choke is pulled out. The outer is attached to the choke spindle and this moves upwards when the choke is pulled out. Hopefully these two pictures will help!

Thanks have relocated to where yours is. Though have a problem the pressure coming out is much less than before more of a dribble. Have cleared the tube a few times as looked like there was air trapped and also have checked the connection to the pump motor. Connection looked a little loose..could it just need a new tube ? as was using the old one and did look a little brittle.
