I have the standard Moss Europe insulation pads glued to the underside of my bonnet which suffer from sagging. Tried unsuccessfully to re attach with Evostick Contact adhesive. Can anybody recommend a suitable high temperature adhesive or have experience with these Pads, maybe there are better alternatives that I've not come across?

Hi David,
I replaced the insulation pads on my 72 BGT some time ago and used the Moss heat resistant adhesive - Part Number: GAC9908X. Quite expensive at £9.80 for the can, but I haven't had any problems with the pads over a few years use. Worth a try?

Thanks Ian - I am currently removing the residue of adhesive from the metal surface of the bonnet. Even using a mask and a fan running in the workshop this is a half an hour at a go job because of the fumes the solvent gives off!
I have considered the Moss bristle pads but frankly have had enough of GLOOPY GLUE OF ANY KIND!
Think I will give the self adhesive ones from MGCOC a go once this residue muck is removed - anybody used them?

OK, update - used the self adhesive pads from MGOC spares and stuck them on to the cleaned up surfaces. So far so good and after three runs the pads show no sign of coming unstuck.
My comments on the MGOC pads are -: the pads are the same bristle based main constituent as others on the market but with a 0.5, mm thick, smooth surfaced grey rubbery outer sheet.
They are self adhesive and pre cut with around a 20 mm overlap of the bonnet brace pressings, I did not attempt to trim them and found sticking with an overlap was fine. Once in place they look great and obviously weigh more than the original plasticky crinkle finished jobbies as the bonnet has more "heft" to it now - it has a weightier feel when raising and lowering, does not clang when pressing shut and engine noise is noticeably reduced, both on the move and at idle.
So that's a conditional endorsement folks - if they are still in place this time next year being the condition.
