My 72 BGT had one from the factory as far as I know.

Re: GT GRP Front wings
On my TR2 I was a able to get an excellent finish easily, and indistinguishable from steel wings.
Depends on your experience of using GRP I guess, but I was always a big fan.
I use it now on my son's race bikes, easy to fix and make presentable.

Re: GT GRP Front wings
Just checked Honebourne Mouldings, the BGT front wings are available but £175 each!

Re: GT GRP Front wings
Can't recommend anyone in particular apart from trying the usual MG suppliers of parts.
Honey Bourne mouldings used to be good - a specialist in GRP panels for classics, but I am not sure if they are still in business.

Re: GT GRP Front wings
Hi Dave, I can't comment specifically on BGT wings, but I have experience of fitting GRP wings to a 1954TR2. The thing to remember is that if the wing shape is at all distorted there is little you can do about it. If it's just a question of hole alignment then that is easy to deal with on a GRP pane...

Re: Old Residue behind Driver Dashboard (renewing car bodywork)
Why would brake fluid be on the inside face of that panel? Master cylinder leaks generally drip down from the aperture through which the pedals hang. It looks like some form of preservative coating to me. From the factory that would simply be painted in body colour. However its worth checking out t...

Hi David,
very difficult to judge from just a photo, but that looks very much like the paint stripper effect of spilt brake fluid. Does it scrape off easily?

Re: Carpet underlay
My original 1972 BGT has the black bituminous layer in the footwells, with rubber mats (originally) on top. I replaced the rubber mats with carpet.
I don't recall any felt underlay, but that was a long time ago!

Re: Fitting MGB GT Seats
I find it quite straightforward to taper the head of the thread on bolts to give an easier lead in. Just using a file and then either a die or an old nut to reset the very end of the threads.
As you say, it makes some jobs very much easier

This is probably the most likely company to be able to produce something suitable.
