Finally after a lot of searching and heartache (not to mention cans of useless colour matched paints I think I have found one close enough?

Another daft question-

Removed the dents and filled/flattened now ready for priming.
Bearing in mind the paintwork is cellulose (no clear coat) is there a special high build primer that I should use or would any type be ok as long as I flatten it once dried?

That’s a great idea, will definitely try that, I’m told the colour is bright red with a mix (quantity unknown) of orange - not that that is of any help!!

Hi Ian,
Guess I will just purchase a 1ltr tin to start with and if it looks ok will get some more to complete the work…
Paint shop used a spectrophotometer on the existing paint to get a near match.

The MG is in need of some tlc where time has ravaged some areas of the paint work, quite happy to tackle this myself however, paint in question is Cellulose (that is fine by me) colour is red/orange mix nearest I can get off the shelf is a 96% match. Have had parabolic’s on my roadster over 12 years find them quite comfortable over lumps and bumps, goes round the corners better as well I find - less roll. Car feels quite a bit more stable.
My personal thoughts are that it’s money well spent.

Thanks for the info Barry, They are only about 18 miles from me so gives me 2/3 different supplier options. Sounds like I have a lot of “homework” to do before attempting the respray 😮😥🤦‍♂️ Still nothing ventured nothing gained..
