Yet more woes
Everything was rosy this morning - then I started work on the car 😱 I “lost” the choke trunnions the other day, but a fellow MGer was kind enough to post one on to me, having arrived this morning I promptly fitted it to the choke (choke now works better than its ever done) all good so far—- Started ...

Re: Not 1 but 2 problems
Hi Peter, yes all ok now, helps when you turn the switches on!! I didn’t run the engine for more than a minute or two. As you can imagine it ran quite lumpy with no air filters or choke connected - but it did run 🤗 and oil pressure is good, of course I will know more when I connect everything up as ...

Re: Not 1 but 2 problems

Skrew = evidently a naughty word when spelt correctly

Right, time to put my hand up and admit that I have a fuel cut off switch and when I started to strip the engine and gearbox out I switched it off (belt and braces don’t you know) forgot to switch it back on surprising what a little spurt of electricary can do!!

Re: Not 1 but 2 problems
Dave,
It did turn but very... very slowly on the solenoid put battery on charge, now no problem in turning on key, however, it would appear that the fuel pump has decided to remain asleep so further investigation is required before fuel will flow...

Not 1 but 2 problems
First problem, Since engine and gearbox put back in car it will not turn over via the ignition key, however, it turns over using the starter solenoid, the fuel pump is also not working/pumping. Second problem - no oil pressure Any thoughts or ideas On what’s wrong and how to fix it would be grateful...

Re: Reinstalling engine and gearbox
Peter, I had a bit of a fight to get the engine mounts to line up - would have been easier with another pair of hands!! So when I then tackled the cross member I left the bolts on the mounts just less than finger tight to take into account any movement/settle only fully tightened everything once all...

Re: Reinstalling engine and gearbox
Brilliant thank you.
The crane can lift upto 1ton and comes with a leveller so all good on that front, will look at modifying the crossmember for ease of assembly once engine/gearbox back in.
