Re: Heater Control Valve

Thanks Charles, the nuts look bloody difficult to access. Any special tools needed or just accept skinned knuckles?
I've read it may be an idea to use allen headed machine screws, probably as rare as rocking horse poo

Heater Control Valve

The heater control valve knob on my 72 B is extremely stiff and doesn't run through the full range. I checked the heater control valve on the engine, which is stuck mid way. I disconnected the cable to try and move it manually (the valve on the engine) and when putting it to fully on water leaked ou...

Re: apologies in advance, too many questions - spax shocks

Re: apologies in advance, too many questions - spax shocks

Is there any way to post images? I think the bushes are shot and the nearside shock bolt looks too close to the exhaust, I'd appreciate someones feedback but it's a bit difficult without being able to share the photo.

Passed an MOT this month too.

Re: apologies in advance, too many questions - spax shocks

Ian, thanks. I assume very soft means the screw is fully back, or close to it, this seems to be where it was set already and it feels a bit hard and hoppy. The roads round here are awful, pot holes like craters which doesn't help.

apologies in advance, too many questions - spax shocks

i hope you lot are patient, so many questions. The, or the one before, PO has fitted Spax rear shocks to my 72 roadster, perceived wisdom seems to be back off and then go for 4 clicks. My problem is there is no little plastic wheel thing on the adjuster just a slotted/flat blade screw. Before I did ...

More newbie questions: Crankcase breather and oil pressure gauge flickering

Apologies in advance as I have mentioned already this is a new, to me, car/experience it was 30 plus years ago when I last picked up a spanner in anger. Last night I managed to take the car out on a reasonable run and towards the end I noticed at idle the oil pressure gauge was fluctuating, somewher...
