Re: Top end ticking

Hi folks, It is reassuring that others also have noisy tappets as I have been plagued ( and embarrassed ) by this for many years. I`ve checked the clearances on many occassions (all at 0.015") and tried using a feeler gauge whilst engine was running technique only to destroy the feeler and lear...

single 12v Battery

Hi folks, I would like information on what 12v battery will fit into the battery well. The one I have was bought in France when I converted to a single battery, (it only lasted 13years ) so a current brand and serial no. would be very useful, and one that could maybe obtained from Halfords. Many tha...

As it has finally expired, I would like to know what 12v batteries are best suited for a replacement together with a serial no.. Do Halfords sup...

Re: Exhaust system

Hi Folks, I had much trouble with "sleeping policeman" and such so I change the exhaust to a large bore with only one silencer at the rear (by the fuel tank) eliminating the first silencer and providing more ground clearance, less joints too. Although it is a sports system it does not seem...

Re: Inlet manifolds

The flanges on the inlet manifold that came with them were thicker than the standard exhaust manifold. To overcome this t...

upper fulcrum pin shearing ?

I mentioned to a well respected MG and classic car restorer that I was about to replace the front suspension bushes with polyurethane ones and was most surprised when he said that on three previous occasions he had to replace the top fulcrum pin that had sheared. It was thought that this was caused ...

Re: Relays

Hi Allen, Yes I have LED headlight bulbs from Classic Car LEDs that are pre-focused for MGB headlights but was a little disappointed with the result, although they seemed brighter the beam was poor, this I guess could be due to the lense, a new original style one from MGOC, Cibie lenses maybe the an...

Re: Adding a brake servo

Hello Peter,
I also have a 1972 US B that was converted to English spec. The "conversation" posed a question-do you get any warning that the seal you mentioned is failing before you discover the brakes have perhaps with disastrous consequences ?
