Re: New Member Question On Tyres
Hi Vic
It could well be the Internals of the Water Pump as you say, although it might be best to take the Thermostat Housing off First as after 20 years of Standing the Thermostat could be seized up
This is theoretically the easiest job of the Two
So I'll try that first

Re: New Member Question On Tyres
Hi Vic The Top Hose was fitted properly but when the water started to get hot, the pressure in the system built up to such an extent that it tried to blow the Top Hose off the Thermostat Housing Water Pump is working OK as is the Alternator which unless you can think of anything else leave only Two ...

Re: New Member Question On Tyres
Hi Vic Great idea! I never gave the Rotor Arm or the Points a thought because with the Jag I'm much more used to working with Fuel Injection and cannot remember the last time that I had a Car with a Rotor Arm and Points What did you meant by shorting out the points with a Screwdriver as I have never...

Re: New Member Question On Tyres
Hi Vic I've fixed the Fuel Pump now and since it was the Old Type with the Fully Threaded Inlets and Outlets, there is a Fibre washer between the Fuel Pump and the Banjo and the recess on the Bango needs to face away from the pump, for the Bolt to go into which also needs a Fibre Washer on it So tha...

Re: New Member Question On Tyres
Hi Vic I did some extensive research on this and it seems you are quite right, the bolt head on the Banjo should go into the side with the indentation and I had got them going in the wrong way! But what I'm not quite sure about is whether or not the Banjo Bolt head needs a Washer or an 'O' Ring or m...

Re: New Member Question On Tyres
Hi Vic
The Banjo fittings that go into the fuel pipe tubes have a slight indentation on one side of the ring
This is the fitting the Banjo Bolt goes through. so I am wondering if this slight indentation, should be facing the fuel pump fitting or facing the bolt?
Does it say anything in your manual?
